Terms of service
Last updated: 1 October 2026
In brief
These terms are the agreement between you and Vestige when you buy from us, and they set the rules for using our store and the Terrain Studio. The full terms follow.
- Made for you. Every tile is made to order for you. Terrain Tiles are made from your route and from third-party map data; each is an artistic representation of your route, not a survey.
- Your design stays yours. We use it only to make, support and reprint your order. We never use your design, your route or photos of your tile in our marketing without your permission.
- We check every order. Our team reviews every design before we print it. If something will not print well, we contact you, and if we cannot fix it we refund you in full.
- Cancel or change for free within 48 hours. You can cancel, or ask us to change your design or colours, for free within 48 hours of placing your order.
- Pay when you order, prices in Australian dollars. Orders placed from 1 October to 31 October 2026 are launch pre-orders; we dispatch them between 1 November and 30 November 2026.
- Hang it safely. Tiles contain magnets and small parts. They are wall decor, not toys.
- Your consumer rights always apply. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Who we are and these terms
Vestige is the brand of Vestige Athletic, the registered business name of the partnership B.O Boulton & A.R O'Connor (ABN 47 403 980 322), based in New South Wales, Australia. We run the online store at vestigeathletic.com.au (formerly vestige.studio) and the Terrain Studio on it. In these terms, "Vestige", "we", "us" and "our" mean that partnership, trading as Vestige Athletic, and "you" means the person using our store or placing an order.
When you place an order, you agree to these terms, our refund and returns policy (vestigeathletic.com.au/policies/refund-policy) and our shipping policy (vestigeathletic.com.au/policies/shipping-policy). The rules under "Using the Terrain Studio fairly" apply whenever you use our store or studio. Our privacy policy (vestigeathletic.com.au/policies/privacy-policy) explains how we handle your personal information.
Who can order
You must be 18 or older to place an order or to connect a Strava account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must place the order for you and accept these terms.
Our products
We make 3D-printed hexagonal wall tiles, 170 mm across the points, printed in Australia in PLA plastic. Our range includes:
- Terrain Tile: a 3D landscape of a route you design in the Terrain Studio, from a GPX file, a Strava activity or our sample route.
- Medal Tile: a tile you add your own medal to after delivery.
- Photo Tile: a tile you put your own printed photograph into after delivery.
- Complete Set: one of each of the three.
Each tile hangs on its own navy backpiece, so tiles can hang edge to edge to build one display. You assemble and hang them yourself using our assembly guide, which is in the box. We never receive, handle or insert your medal or photograph.
Colours are shown by our own colour names, such as Chalk, Glacier, Harbour, Bone and Navy.
Map data and accuracy
Your Terrain Tile is made from your route and from third-party map data. Elevation comes from public elevation services. Buildings, water, forest, roads and snow come from sources such as OpenStreetMap. This data can be incomplete, out of date or simplified, and the Terrain Studio preview shows you what it holds before you order. If a feature in your design needs to change for the tile to print well, we will contact you before we print.
Your tile is an artistic representation of your route, not a survey, and must not be used for navigation. The printed tile follows the design you approved as closely as 3D printing allows.
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. Elevation data includes data © Commonwealth of Australia (Geoscience Australia); see the Terrain Tiles attribution list: https://github.com/tilezen/joerd/blob/master/docs/attribution.md.
3D-print finish
3D printing builds a tile in fine layers. Layer lines and small surface marks are normal and are not a fault. Our refund and returns policy explains what is a fault.
Your design
"Your design" means the route you upload or choose, and the choices you make in the Terrain Studio, such as the area, colours and features.
You keep your rights. You keep any rights you have in your route, your photograph and your medal.
What you let us do. You give us a non-exclusive licence to use your design only to make, check, deliver, support and reprint your order, and to keep the records the law requires. This licence lasts as long as we need it for those purposes. We keep the print file for 120 days after it is uploaded, as our privacy policy explains. We never use your design, your route or photos of your tile in our marketing without your permission. If you post about your tile and we would like to share it, we will ask you first, and you can say no or change your mind later.
What you promise us. You promise that you have the right to use everything you give us. For example, upload only your own routes, or routes you have permission to use, and do not upload anything unlawful. A route shows where someone went, so please do not upload someone else's route without their permission.
Connecting Strava
If you connect your Strava account, Strava's own terms and privacy policy govern your Strava account. We use your Strava connection only to show you your own activities so you can choose one to print. Our privacy policy explains what we collect from Strava and how long we keep it. Strava does not sponsor or endorse Vestige, and is not responsible for our products.
Orders and design review
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We accept it when we email you to confirm your order.
You can cancel your order, or ask us to change your design or colours, for free within 48 hours of placing it. Email info@vestige.studio with your order number. We go by the time you send your email. After 48 hours production may have started and, because every tile is made to order for you, we cannot accept a cancellation because you have changed your mind. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law if something is wrong with your tile are not affected.
We review every design before we print it, and we only contact you if something needs your attention. If we cannot print your design well, we will offer you a change or a full refund.
We may also cancel an order, with a full refund, if:
- your design cannot be printed well and we cannot fix it with you;
- we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse; a partner reviews every case before we cancel; or
- the delivery address is outside the area we deliver to.
If a price was clearly wrong, "Prices and payment" below explains what happens. Our refund and returns policy explains how a design change works, and your options after 48 hours.
Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is charged or included in our prices. Delivery is charged separately at checkout, as set out in our shipping policy.
Payment is due when you place your order. Payments are processed by the payment provider you choose at checkout; we never see your full card number. If you choose a pay-later provider at checkout, such as Afterpay, you pay that provider under its own terms.
Each discount code has its own conditions, including whether it can be combined with other discounts, shown where we offer it. A code cannot be exchanged for cash.
If a price was clearly wrong, we will tell you before we make your order. You can pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We will not charge you more without your agreement.
Pre-orders, dispatch and delivery
Orders placed from 1 October to 31 October 2026 are launch pre-orders. We dispatch them between 1 November and 30 November 2026, in the order we received them. Those are the dates we send orders, not delivery dates. Our shipping policy explains how long delivery takes, where we deliver and what it costs.
Your dispatch date is 30 November 2026 for a launch pre-order. For an order placed after the pre-order period, it is 15 business days after you order: we dispatch within 15 business days of your order. "Business days" means Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays in New South Wales.
If we expect your order to be late, we will email you as soon as we know. When we do, you can choose to wait or to cancel for a full refund. If we have not dispatched your order within 30 days after your dispatch date, you can cancel for a full refund, as our refund and returns policy explains. If we are late, you may also have other rights under the Australian Consumer Law; this does not limit them.
Risk and ownership
Your order is our responsibility until it is delivered to you. Ownership of the tiles and the risk of loss or damage pass to you on delivery. Our shipping policy explains what counts as delivered, and what we do if a parcel marked as delivered cannot be found.
Safety
Please read these points and our assembly guide before you hang your tiles.
- Magnets and small parts. Tiles contain magnets and small parts. They are wall decor, not toys. Keep tiles, magnets and small parts out of reach of children under 3, and do not let any child play with loose magnets. If a magnet is swallowed, get medical help straight away.
- Medical devices. Keep magnets at least 15 cm away from pacemakers, implanted defibrillators and other implanted medical devices.
- Fixings. Hang each tile with screws, hooks or adhesive fixings that suit your wall and the weight of the tile, including any medal on it. Follow the fixing maker's instructions.
- Where to hang. Do not hang tiles above a bed, cot or seat, or anywhere a falling tile could hurt someone.
- Loads. Each backpiece is designed to hold its own tile. Hang it with the hanging strips or on a screw through its keyhole, as our guide describes, and follow the strip maker's instructions and weight limits. Apart from a medal fitted as our guide describes, do not hang anything else from a tile.
- Heat and sun. PLA can soften and warp near heat. Do not hang tiles above heaters, stoves or fireplaces, or in hot direct sun, including sun through a window, and do not leave them in a hot car.
Your account
If you create a customer account, keep your sign-in details, and access to the email account you sign in with, safe. Do not share them. Tell us straight away at info@vestige.studio if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend an account that is used to break these terms.
Our intellectual property
We own, or have permission to use, the Vestige name and logo, our tile designs, tile and backpiece geometry, the Terrain Studio, and the text, images and code on our website. You may use our website and studio to design and buy tiles for yourself. You may not copy, sell or make products from our designs, geometry or print files, or from our website, without our written permission.
The physical tiles you buy are yours to keep, hang, give away or sell second-hand.
Using the Terrain Studio fairly
When you use our store and the Terrain Studio, please do not:
- scrape, copy or download our website, studio or data in bulk, or use bots or automated tools to access them;
- try to get around our security, bot checks or usage limits, or interfere with how the store works;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the studio, our print files or our geometry, except as the law allows;
- upload other people's routes or personal information without their permission; or
- upload anything unlawful, harmful or that infringes someone else's rights.
We may limit or stop access to the store or studio for anyone who breaks these rules.
Your consumer rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees, or any other right or remedy that the Australian Consumer Law or another law gives you and that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our refund and returns policy explains how to make a claim, how we usually handle a fault, and what is not a fault, such as damage you cause after delivery.
Our liability
Our liability is always subject to "Your consumer rights" above. Within that limit:
- we are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order;
- we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by you, for example by not following our safety notes, or by fixings that did not suit your wall; and
- we sell our tiles for personal and household use, so we are not responsible for business losses, such as lost profit, unless they were a reasonably foreseeable result of our failure.
We are responsible for loss or damage that our failure to meet a consumer guarantee causes, as the Australian Consumer Law sets out.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to other websites, such as Strava and OpenStreetMap. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information. Their own terms and policies apply.
Privacy
Our privacy policy (vestigeathletic.com.au/policies/privacy-policy) explains what personal information we collect, including your route and any Strava data, how we use it and the choices you have.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add products or change how we work. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. The terms that apply to an order are the ones on our website when you placed it. A change never applies to an order you have already placed unless you agree to it.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. You and we agree that the courts of New South Wales, and courts that can hear appeals from them, can hear any dispute. This does not stop you from going to a court or tribunal in your own state or territory, or from contacting NSW Fair Trading, your local consumer protection agency or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). You can also apply to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT), or the tribunal in your state or territory.
If you have a problem, please contact us first. We will try to sort it out quickly and fairly.
